57-year-old man in remand for stealing mosquito net #hmmm

A 57-year-old man, Lawrence Isidor, has been remanded for two weeks after he was alleged to have stolen a mosquito net belonging to one Mrs. Gracious Odo, a resident on Marble Street, Happy Land Estate in the Ajah area of Lagos State.

It was learnt that the defendant slapped the woman when she accused him of stealing the net.

The defendant was on August 11, arraigned by the police before a Tinubu Magistrate's Court , on two counts of stealing and assault -─ to which he pleaded not guilty.

The charges read, "That you, Lawrence Isido,r on August 10, 2014 at about 2pm on Marble Street, Happy Land Estate, Ajah, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did steal one mosquito net value N800, property of Gracious Odo and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 285 (5) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

"That you did unlawfully assault her by slapping her face and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 170 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011."

As of Wednesday when the matter was called for hearing, It was gathered that no surety had shown up to perfect the N5,000 bail condition levied by the magistrate, Mr. T.A. Owolabi.

The prosecutor pleaded that the complainant was not in court due to ill health ─ an excuse Owolabi frowned on, noting that the defendant was being made to suffer.

When asked what he wanted the court to do for him, the accused, who had no defence counsel, fell on his knees and pleaded the magistrate to discard the case.

"My lord, please, I want the case to be struck out," he pleaded.

Owolabi, instructed the prosecutor to meet with the complainant before the next adjournment date which was slated for Monday, September 1, 2014.

"I reluctantly accede to the prosecutor's plea that the complainant is sick. The court shall not hesitate to take the necessary steps if the prosecutor cannot produce the woman in court and establish the veracity of her sickness by Monday," he said.

Ebola: Nano Silver fails health requirements - Health Minister

The U.S already warned that experimental drug Nanosilver is a pesticide...and now Nigerian Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu says the drug, developed by a Nigerian in diaspora, has failed health requirements and will not be used on Ebola patients in Nigeria.

The minister said this today August 18th while receiving the US Ambassador, Mr James Entwistle, in his office in Abuja.
"The experimental drug, Nano Silver did not meet the requirements of the National Health Research Ethics Code. Accordingly, the approval was withheld by the National Health Research Ethics Committee,” Chukwu said.

Man arraigned for ‘stealing’ diesel at ABUAD

A man, Adebayo Sunday (37) was arraigned yesterday at the Magistrate’s Court in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, for allegedly stealing 300 litres of diesel, valued at N55,500.
According to the charge sheet, the offence was committed on July 19 at the Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD).
Sunday’s counsel Duro Adonis urged the court to grant his client bail. The Chief Magistrate, P.I. Ayenimo, granted Sunday N200,000 bail with two sureties and moved the case from Court 2 to Court 4.
The case was adjourned to August 20.
Sunday confessed to the crime and pleaded for mercy.
He said he had been working for ABUAD since the institution’s inception, adding: “This is the first time such a mistake would happen and I would not repeat it if forgiven. I appeal to them (the institution) to forgive me. There is nothing I can say or do except apologise. I am not a person like that. I have been working there (ABUAD) for long. I started the school with them. I operated the pay loader when they were constructing the buildings in the school. I’ve been there for about five years.
“It was Baba himself (Chief Afe Babalola) who called me on phone one day and invited me to come and work for the institution when he saw how I had been working. I work all the time within the campus. I even work on weekends. No Saturday or Sunday. I work all the time. Baba should forgive me.”

TOP 10 WEIRDEST MARRIAGES!!!

TOP 10 WEIRDEST MARRIAGES!!! YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS!
Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to have an
animal or object as your life partner? Well, to us at least, a
legislation of marriage has to be between two consenting
human beings who are alive and are able to acknowledge
the marriage. However, it’s not the case for many oddballs
in the world as there have been cases of marriages between
people and non-consenting beings. Bizarre or romantic?
Judge for yourself as we share with you the top 10 most
bizarre marriages where only one partner said, “I Do.”
1. A dog - An African woman, Emily Mabou of Aburi, Ghana,
has married her 18-month old dog because she said that it
has the same qualities as her late father. Her ceremony was
attended by a priest and some local villagers.
2. A pillow - Lee Jin-gyu fell for his ‘Dakimakura’, which is
a large, hug-able pillow from Japan, often with a picture of
a anime character printed on it. Lee then married his pillow,
which has an image of Fate Testarossa, from the anime
series Mahou Shouja Lyrical Nanoha in a special ceremony
after fitting it out with a wedding gown for the service who
was officiated by a priest.
3. A dolphin - After having met Cindy, the dolphin, 15 years
ago, Sharon Tendler said it was love at first sight and she
was the first person in the world to marry a dolphin. Dressed
in a white dress, a veil and pink flowers in her hair, 41-year
old Tendler had a modest ceremony whereby she got down
on one knee on the dock and gave Cindy a kiss. They even
had a prenuptial agreement!
4. A video game - A man and otaku named Sal9000 (his
online handle), married the love of his life, Nene Anegasaki,
an anime character from the game Love Plus. The wedding
took place at the Tokyo Institute of Technology and those
who attended the ceremony included a live audience, an
emcee and a real priest.
5. A dead girlfriend – In 2012, A Thai man, Chadil Deffy
married his long time girlfriend Anne Kamsook, who was
already deceased. Before the couple had a chance to set a
date for their wedding, Kamsook passed away in a car
accident. He also kissed her forehead and slipped a
wedding ring on her finger during the ceremony which took
place in Surin, Thailand.
6. The Eiffel Tower - 37-year old Erika La Tour Eiffel was
once infatuated with a bow and the Berlin Wall, but it is the
Eiffel Tower that she has pledged her love and honour to. In
an intimate ceremony attended by a group of friends, she
married the Eiffel Tower and has even changed her name
legally to reflect the bond she had made.
7. A cobra - 30-year old Bimbala Das who claimed to have
fallen in love with her snake got married to the reptile in
Hubaneswar. The ceremony was performed as per Hindu
rituals by some priests and had 2,000 guests taking out a
procession to celebrate the event.
8. A doll - Davecat (his online handle) bought his now wife
13 years ago from the Abyss Creations website and saved
for a year and a half to buy a $6000 doll, who he then
named Sidore Kuroneko. Believe it or not, he also selected
her facial type, body type, eye colour, makeup, skin tone
and bust size. In December 2012, he purchased a second
doll and named it Elena, who he claims is his mistress and
a friend to Sidore.
9. A cat - When his 15-year old cat Cecilia fell ill and told
Uwe Mitzscherlich that his cat did not have long to live, he
decided to formalize his relationship with his cat. An
actress was hired to officiate the wedding and Cecilia wore
a white dress for the occasion.
10. A truck - Maria Griffin married her truck on Valentine’s
Day after she claimed that she was unable to feel aroused
by living men. Apparently, their sex life is amazing, which
keeps us wondering just exactly how do they do it.

The Cure To Ebola Virus Is Bitta Kola

Since the outbreak of Ebola Virus in Nigeria, Scientist in the world have taken it serious to make full research on how to cure the deadly virus. The good news is that a cure have been discovered which is Bitter Kola (Garcinia Kola).

According to Nature Cure: The Ebola and Marburg viruses are the only members of a newly identified family of single-stranded, unsegmented RNA viruses, the filoviridae. This family is closely related to the rhabdoviridae, which includes the rabies virus, and the paramyxoviridae. Viruses in this latter family cause childhood diseases such as measles. Filoviruses infect humans and other primates.

Ebola haemorrhagic fever outbreaks occur primarily in remote villages in Central and West Africa, near tropical rainforests.

The virus is transmitted to people from wild animals and spreads in the human population through human-to-human transmission. Fruit bats of the Pteropodidae family are considered to be the natural host of the Ebola virus. Ebola first appeared in 1976 in two simultaneous outbreaks, in Nzara, Sudan, and in Yambuku, Democratic Republic of Congo. The latter was in a village situated near the Ebola River, from which the disease takes its name.

The Ebola virus is comprised of five distinct species: Bundibugyo, Ivory Coast, Reston, Sudan and Zaire. Bundibugyo, Sudan and Zaire species have been associated with large Ebola haemorrhagic fever outbreaks in Africa, while the Ivory Coast and Reston species have not The Ebola Reston species, found in the Philippines, can infect humans, but no illness or death in humans has been reported to date.

Ebola is introduced into the human population through close contact with the blood, secretions, organs or other bodily fluids of infected animals. In Africa, infection has been documented through the handling of infected chimpanzees, gorillas, fruit bats, monkeys, forest antelope and porcupines found dead or ill in the rainforest.

Later Ebola spreads in the community through human-to-human transmission, resulting from close contact with the blood, secretions, organs or other bodily fluids of infected people. Burial ceremonies where mourners have direct contact with the body of the deceased person can also play a role in the transmission of Ebola. Transmission via infected Fluid can occur up to seven weeks after clinical recovery. Little is known of the molecular biology of these viruses or the mechanisms by which they cause disease.

Symptoms of Ebola.

Sudden onset of fever, intense weakness, muscle pain, headache and sore throat. This is followed by vomiting, diarrhoea, rash, impaired kidney and liver function, and in some cases, both internal and external bleeding. The incubation period (interval from infection to onset of symptoms) varies between 2 to 21 days. During Ebola outbreaks, the case-fatality rate has varied from outbreak to outbreak between 25% and 90%.

The seeds of the African Bitter Kolatree have properties that can kill the ebola virus.
